Amy Culp

Amy Culp, RD, LD is a skilled nutrition expert with a passion for promoting nutrition and wellness. She is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian specializing in disordered eating, sports nutrition, weight management, prenatal and child nutrition, wellness, and medical nutrition therapy (heart disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and more). Amy motivates clients to optimize their health and well-being during individual consultations and speaking engagements in her private practice, sCULPture Nutrition & Fitness.

Amy strengthened her abilities to provide accurate and knowledgable nutrition information, and developed her knack for promoting health behavior change not only from her experience in her private practice, but also from her diverse background in nutrition. Previous career endeavors include counseling students and athletes at the the University of Texas, working as a community and high risk dietitian for the local and state WIC program, and gaining invaluable skills an inpatient and outpatient dietitian for a large HMO in California. She was a contributing author to the “Sports Nutrition Desk Reference” and has a love for coaching athletes in sports nutrition. She was able to utilize her talent in sports nutrition in the summer of 2006 by providing specialized sports nutrition advice to her husband to prepare him for competing in the Leadville 100 mile trail run.

Amy earned her Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Food and Nutrition form San Diego State University, and completed her clinical training at the highly competitive and challenging VA San Diego Healthcare System. While at SDSU, Amy exhibited outstanding leadership abilities as President of the Student Nutrition Organization, was awarded with scholarships and was chosen as the Outstanding California Dietetic Student of the Year for the State of California by the American Dietetic Association.

Amy is an active member of the American, Texas, and Austin dietetic associations. She is also actively involved in specialty groups such as the Austin Eating Disorder Specialists, the Sports, Cardiovascular & Wellness Dietetic Practice Group, Weight Management Practice Group, and Nutrition in Completmentary Care Practice Group. In her free time, Amy enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors running, hiking and cycling, and spending time with her husband and family.
